The Exploding Bubble Club, £5 entry, Bar 78 / The Custard Factory (Digbeth).
The first Exploding Bubble blew up in Birmingham this weekend. Bar 78 proved ideal - the 3 story building allowed for two floors of alternate music and a separate sofa-laden floor for those who weren't quite so confident in their dancing. A series of apt visuals were projected across the white walls and the vast floor space was just enough for the moves of all 200-odd guests. Altogether, a brilliant night of psych, freakbeat, R&B, soul and motown.
